Ladakh group tours

Leh is at about 3,500 m, so every Ladakh itinerary needs rest days before going higher, and roads to Nubra and Pangong cross passes above 5,000 m. The usual season is May to September.

Planning a Ladakh group trip

  • Fly-in groups need two rest days in Leh before going higher; road trips via Manali or Srinagar acclimatise on the way but take about two days each way.
  • Indian nationals haven't needed an Inner Line Permit since 2021, but a Ladakh environment fee applies; foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit. Check current rules before you go.
  • Passes such as Khardung La and Chang La rise above 5,000 m and can close after snowfall.
  • Nubra Valley and Pangong Tso each need at least one night away from Leh.

How tours are listed and ordered

We list a tour only after checking the operator (registration, insurance, emergency support, written terms) and the package itself. Within the list, you choose the order:

  • Best match — how many of your filters a tour meets (dates, budget, length, style, departure city), with the reasons shown on each card.
  • Departure date, total price or trip length.

Tours with something you can request now always come before those without. A departure counts as open only while the operator has seats and confirmed them in the last 14 days. We don't declare any operator "the best": until there's enough verified traveller feedback, listings are neutral. Sponsored tours, if any, are labelled and shown separately; payment never changes the order. More about how this works.
