Privacy notice

We collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no advertising trackers and no cookies.

Stored in your browser only

Your trips, saved places, compare list, shot-list ticks and starting city are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device unless you share a trip link — the link itself contains that trip. Clearing your browser data deletes them.

Stored on our servers

• Photo comments: the name and comment you post are public. To limit spam, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address with the times of your most recent posts. It can't be turned back into your IP address.
• Feedback: your message, the page it came from and your email if you give one. We use these only to reply and fix things, and delete them after 12 months. The same one-way IP hash limits how many messages can be sent.
• Anonymous usage counts: daily totals of actions like “search” or “trip created”. These contain no personal data, IP addresses or identifiers.

Third parties

Photos load from Wikimedia, maps from OpenStreetMap, the map library from unpkg and fonts from Google Fonts. These services receive your IP address when they serve those files. The site is hosted on Netlify.

Use the feedback form. To remove a comment you posted, tell us which photo it's on.
