How much does a government skiing course cost in India?
Published fees for upcoming courses range from ₹5,000 to ₹33,000 for Indian nationals. IISM's fee depends on age (₹10,000 up to 25, ₹20,000 above) and its Kargil batches cost less for local participants. Travel isn't included; check each course for what the fee covers.
Can complete beginners join?
Yes — basic skiing courses need no earlier course. Intermediate and advanced groups need a grade from the level below (IISM asks for a B or A grade in Basic for Intermediate, and an A in Intermediate for Advanced).
When are skiing courses held and when do applications open?
Courses run from late December to March, depending on snow. IISM's online booking for 2026–27 opens on 12 November 2026 at 10:00; NIM asks applicants to confirm dates from 15 January 2027 because they depend on snowfall.
